LITTLE STEVEN
RENAISSANCE MAN
Musician, singer, writer, actor, activist and educator. Steven Van Zandt is a creative and outspoken supporter of causes, innovative ideas, and good old hard work.
“Little Steven” to music fans, “Silvio” to Sopranos fans and Frank Tagliano to Lilyhammer fans, Steven Van Zandt has worked hard to create a career that is sustainable – and global.
-
As a key member of Bruce Springsteens’ E Street band since the 1970s, he was an innovator in creating the “Jersey Shore Sound”.
-
As part of the Sopranos New Jersey “family”, his “Silvio” character gained and maintained a place in the hearts of people everywhere.
-
A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Little Steven has also had his own band for many years, the Disciples of Soul.
-
His activism includes forming Artists United Against Apartheid and creating the song "Sun City," which is credited with contributing to the end of apartheid.
In 2011, his full attention turned to Norway, first with Lilyhammer, then film and educational activities that have now led to Halden and LSROK.
The Decision is Lilyhammer
After the Sopranos finished their 7th and final season, Steven worked with NRK and Netflix to to create another cultural classic – Lilyhammer.
Faced with the choice of going to jail for a long time or telling his story and “naming names” – Van Zandt’s character decides to “sing like a canary”. Put into a “witness protection program” Van Zandt’s character is sent far away from New York City to the small mountain town of Lillehammer.
The show became Norway’s most important cultural export for several years – at its height being shown in 150 countries – and was the first streamed program by Netflix, beginning a new era of entertainment.
LSROK based in Halden
Now, LSROK based in Halden is leading the way in Norway to communicate Steven’s vision, rooted in his transformation from a young man uninterested in school to an insatiably curious and artistic adult.

The film, event and recording industry, especially in Norway, desperately needs young talents who excel in technical aspects that include, sound, light, film, IT – everything functioning in sync for the entertainment to be successful.
4. Creating and staging an event
“Before I go on stage, I want to be 100% certain that my show will be the best show anyone has ever seen.”

We have a number of events coming up, including the Valyrien All-Stars. Activities will incldude technical, crowd management, information, logistics, security and customer service.
